Some bittersweet news from me today!!Today was my last day at Peninsula Health as I have decided to move onto new adventures.I am incredibly grateful for the opportunities and growth I've experienced working as an OT at Peninsula Health. It has been a privilege working in the Public Health System and working within the community I grew up in.A special thank you to my fantastic colleagues, mentors and now lifelong friends who have made this journey unforgettable! I have gained so many incredible skills!Although I'm sad to leave, I'm excited about my new chapter moving overseas to London (next week!!) 😊This photo is from Christmas time with some Physio friends in our matching scrub tops!

Do you want to know what the highlight of my year is? Finishing housejob! 😃 I remember traveling to Asaba for the first time in October last year (accompanied by my siblings) and wondering what the next year would look like. You see? I have lived in the Southeast my entire life and never really moved out of my comfort zone. So, for the first time, I was going to be away from my familiar surroundings. After settling down, I began to learn about my new environment. Let me give a shout out to the amazing Dr Okoro Eleanor, for her orientation on the hospital and more importantly, managing money as I found living in the city to be somewhat expensive. As the months passed, I made new friends, spoke with senior colleagues who linked me up with opportunities for personal development, volunteered with NGOs, joined a local book club and worked together on research projects. I also contested for and was elected to the office of Assistant House Officers Representative, which greatly expanded my network and taught me the importance of good relations and effective communication in leadership. My current position as a Medical Officer in a private clinic, where I am continuously challenged to become a better physician, was made possible by these experiences. I would like to reassure anyone who is concerned about relocating to a new city, starting a new job or finding it difficult to adjust to a new terrain that these things get better with time. In the meantime, have an open mind, strike up conversations, attend networking events and volunteer to serve others without pay. What lessons can you share with others who are struggling to acclimatize? Please, share in the comments below.

This week I started my amazing new job at BetterYou, a wellness company that helps our members find time in their day for their health which I am so proud and lucky to be a part of. The irony of this is it is the same week a family member of mine was diagnosed with cancer. This is one of the better cancers so while it may take some time, we are hopeful of the outcome. If there is anything I have learned from this experience it is that time is of the essence. We all have a deadline. Precious minutes in the day that we decide how to spend. Real estate in our minds that we decide who to give to. Where should that time go? Who or what sparks the most joy in you? What hasearnedyour time? Prime real estate should not be given away so easily. How much time do you want to give to social media, a job you don’t want to be at, insecurities, activities, people, or technology that neither fuels you nor impacts you? Over the years I have seen this family member lose time over stress at work and today he wonders what it was for. At the end of the day, the only things that will be remembered are the people you impacted, the relationships you cherished, and the experiences you had along the way and it is ourresponsibilityto make these things happen. Anything can happen tomorrow. Go for that job youreallywanted, call your loved ones today, focus on your health, workon whatever crazy idea you had. Why miss the beauty of life?

What a crazy time 2021! Delivering projects during the COVID lockdown period presented unique challenges that is for sure. In the words of Franklin D Roosevelt (and as written in the gents at Royal Crown Hotel in Dudley...) 'A smooth sea never made a skilled sailor. '. Two delightful years have flown by since I embarked on this Lenus adventure, and what a ride it's been! As we toast to our 2-year mark in the US, I'm pausing for a quick trip down memory lane.🥂Copenhagen seems so far away now – that's where my Lenus story began. Jumping into the health and wellness digital realm, I had no clue that I'd be at the forefront of such a revolutionary shift. And wow, have I grown in these two years! One thing stands out: the company you keep shapes you. Being surrounded by ambitious, problem-solving minds at Lenus has not only fired up my professional drive but has also reshaped how I think. Every day is a blend of learning and, let’s be honest, quite a bit of fun! Our company culture is genuinely something special. But why did I plunge into this? Well, my Masters of Science in Exercise and Wellness wasn’t just to get a piece of paper. I'm passionate about a healthier world, and every day at Lenus reinforces that we're making waves in global health. Being a part of, and experiencing the impact we are having for our coaches and clients fills my cup. We are making a real difference. As a Key Account Manager Team Lead, I’ve realized that all the diverse skills I’ve accumulated are now shining in harmony. From sales and branding to client services and team building – there’s never a dull day at Lenus! So to put it in a few short words, I'm beyond grateful I took that step onto that plane and never looked back. The sky's the limit for what we're going to achieve, and I'm thrilled to say, every day, "I truly love what I do." Cheers to many more years of passion, growth, and breakthroughs! 🚀
