6 night Carnival Spirit, ok cruise

I was nervous coming on this cruise because I'd read really negative reviews of good, e.g. wrong temperature or otherwise unsafe food. Overall food wasn't a highlight of this cruise, as the buffet options felt limited and dining room food was uneven in quality. Day one at sea was rough. Many seasick people including myself. After that it was great. The food and shows as well as other activities were very good. I really enjoyed the evening movies. First the positives, Embarkation was fast and efficient, our ocean view cabin was clean and in good repair. Excellent cabin steward (Budi). The crew was very friendly and ship was clean. Best food was at Chopstix or Guy's Burger.Negatives - Guest services was more worried about playing on their phone than helping. On several occasions they gave incorrect information. The last cruise was horrible:1-Instead of Platinum priority, we were told there were too many Platinum members aboard2-Anytime dining was a disaster over and over, our phones would not let us make a reservation, and the folks out front were not pleased (after the fourth day they would reserve a table for us)3-Brunch over an hour to get food while people after us got served quickly

We wanted to see the Bahamas. The cruise left from Mobile, a very convenient port for us. Room was clean and comfortable. Steward did a great job. Food was way suboptimal. Not sure I have ever been on a cruise where the food was worse. Actually ate three times where I tried simple entrees or appetizers that were just awful. I have never left that much food on the plate. One bite was all it took.

Actually the Spirit cruise chose us! My husband and I won the cruise through Windcreek casino. This was our first time sailing, it was not a wonderful experience at all. We choose this cruise specifically for the destination, we didnt disagree with the captian changing the destination based on safety concerns with the weather but dont feel we were sufficiently conspensated for that change as a cruise to freeport would have been much cheaper.
